What is meditation?

So what is meditation exactly? More importantly, what does meditation mean to YOU?

This can be a very challenging question to ask. Since the term ‘meditation’ can be used in such a broad sense. A simple definition of meditation would be ‘a state in which the body is consciously relaxed and the mind is allowed to become calm and focused’. Meditation is an action, not an object. You cannot see meditation, but you can experience it for yourself. That is why it is so hard to define. Throughout history meditation has been practiced by many different cultures over many thousands of years. And each culture has developed a different interpretation of what meditation means to them.
